Interior design

The interior design of a cozy café also refers to cinematography. One part of the area represents Lynch's Twin Peaks and the other Kubrick's Enlightenment. The bar was painted by the master of Czech comics Jaromír 99 in the style of Alois Nebel. Drinks can also be consumed in the screening halls.

Opening hours

Bar opens 30 minutes before the first screening of the day and closes at 23:00.

What you can see and hear

+
Exhibitions

In the foyer of our cinema, you can always see a carefully curated exhibition of posters from the Terry Posters Gallery, which we change at regular intervals.

Music before screenings

We play a selection of the best new music curated by Radio 1 before each screening.

History

+
History

The cinema was opened in 1918 together with the passage of the same name, but until 1956 it functioned as a cabaret. In 1968, the revolutionary Kinoautomat project, first presented at Expo 67 in Montreal, settled in Světozor.

We have been writing modern history with our current group since 2004. A year later, the Terry Socks sales gallery specializing in movie posters opened. We are constantly trying to improve our cinema, so at the turn of 2007 and 2008 extensive renovations took place.

In 2018, the grand opening of the third hall took place, and thanks to that we can call Světozor an art complex.

What else we do

+

We’re a bunch of friends who love film and everything around it. Besides our cinemas, we recommend you to also check out the work of our colleagues in the film distribution company Aerofilms, film education for kids, schools and adults in Aeroškola or the film shop and poster gallery Terry Posters.

If you happen to find yourself in Hradec Králové, don't hesitate to pay a visit to Bio Central. In Brno, our hearts belong to University Cinema Scala.
